Release Notes:
- Gyazo wears a cool new icon online and on your desktop!
The new icon changes your desktop appearance and looks very professional.
- The directory of the user id file has been changed from the exe directory to the user's app library directory in the operating system.
Here are examples of the new paths for the major operating systems:
Windows XP
Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Gyazo\
Windows Vista/7
Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Gyazo\
Windows User Note : if you use Gyazowin.exe outside of C:\Program Files\Gyazo, Gyazo will not detect id.txt automatically. In that case, please copy old id.txt (that exists in the same directory of gyazowin.exe) to the new path.
Mac OS X
/Users/<username>/Library/Gyazo/
- Now the id (user id) is given from the server instead of generating it on the client side. When gyazo uploads an image with empty id information, new id data is included in the "X-Gyazo-Id" header in the http response.
- User-Agent will now be posted
- Remove ColorProfile information from captured PNG file (Mac Version Only)
- Fixed several bugs

Nice. Changes doesn't seems very noticiable for the normal user, the last version worked very smothly for me, but always is nice keep the last version for avoid possible bugs. Also the new icon looks cool.
ReplyDeleteKeep your work up ^w^
gyazo is seriously the best program. now that i've started using it, i can't NOT use it. it's fantastic.
ReplyDeleteis there any way i can have the old icon back, though? i really liked it :(
Hi Synx,
ReplyDeletethank you so much.
We will keep working to make Gyazo better.
Hi lies,
Hmm, the new icon is designed by one of our friends who is a professional product designer. Please don't be nostalgic...
great sw!
ReplyDeletethank you!
Is it maybe possible to disable opening screenshot site? Just to grab IMG and it will be saved to clipboard.
ReplyDeletePlease make a portable version
ReplyDeleteHow long picture is stored on the server?
ReplyDeleteHi Krasiu,
ReplyDeleteIt's not possible at this time. I think opening a browser is necessary to confirm your image.
Hi Azat,
ReplyDeleteyou mean smart phone support?
Hi romka,
We store all images permanently.
Windows XP Pro, Firefox 3.6.10
ReplyDeleteI got a pop-up saying the new version is ready. I downloaded the installer and tried to run it. It stops, and shows the following error message:
C:\Program Files\Gyazo\gyazowin.exe
An error occurred while trying to replace the existing file:
DeleteFile failed; code 5.
Access is denied.
Click Retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation.
"Retry" did not work, so I clicked "Abort."
The old version works fine. Great program, by the way. I use it frequently.
Since the new version won't install, I will just continue to use the old version. How do I get the pop-up notice for the new version to go away?
What if some personal information is accidentally included in the uploaded image, how easy is it to have that images removed from your servers?
ReplyDeleteGreat app btw, thank you :)
Good question about personal information.
ReplyDeleteHi ftworth,
ReplyDeletewe've just updated the installer. Can you try to download the installer again?
Also, please confirm that you run the installer with administrator privileges.
Hi stainedfuture,
we are preparing to add the delete features.
If you have any questions, please contact us by sending email. The address is in the footer at http://gyazo.com/
Hi, Isshu. Gyazo stopped working for me today. :( I used both the old version, then uninstalled it and reinstalled 1.0, and I've had the same problem. It terminates as soon as I grab a screen.
ReplyDeleteMade a quick screencast for you so you could see:

Thanks -- Josh
Hi Azat,
ReplyDeleteyou mean smart phone support?
no, portable edition for USB flash
Thinstall Virtualization Suite
Hi Juez Josh,
ReplyDeletethanks for the video.
Watching your screencast, Gyazo could upload the image, but could not find the default browser to open the URL.
The message "Application not found" is shown by Windows, not by Gyazo.
Here is the hint to fix this problem:

Hi Azat,
ReplyDeleteJust copy gyazowin.exe(Windows) or gyazo.app(Mac) into your USB flash and you can run it anywhere.
Hi Isshu,
ReplyDeleteThe updated installer apparently worked. It quickly installed the new version, and asked me to restart. I did so, and the program seems to work as intended. I don't know a way to check the version number, but I no longer get the pop-up saying I need to get the new version. Everyone is talking about a new icon. What does it look like? The icon in my system tray stayed the same when I went to the new version. Maybe I've had the new icon all along. It's a box with the letter "G" in it. If that isn't the new icon, where can I go to see a sample of the new one? See this Gyazo grab showing my system tray:

Yes, I am the administrator.
Hi ftworth,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you could successfully install the new Gyazo.
>It quickly installed the new version, and asked me to restart.
The new installer supports restarting when it can't write the files correctly. (this means you don't have to restart in most cases)
this is the new icon:

If you restart or create the shortcut again, you may see the new icon.
Hi Isshu,
ReplyDeleteThis time I went to Start >> Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs, and removed the program. Then I reinstalled it using the Gyazo-1.0(2) Installer.
I clicked the boxes to install an icon on both the desktop and the system tray. It asked for a "restart," and I did so.
It worked. I have the new icon in my system tray now. I'm up-to-date until the next change. Thanks.
Thanks for the new update. I just made a new youtube video on my channel.

I think this should help get it more exposed to the masses. :)
Thanks Isshu! Works great now.
ReplyDeleteHi again Isshu. I just readed the last comments and I was pretty surprised about that the images are permanently stored on the server.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have any space problem? The image it's uploaded on PNG so the quality is very high, and in consequence, heavy. How much GB of pics are at this moment in use on the server?
About the navigator pop-up that other user said. I agree a bit, sometimes is annoying that the explorer gets on the top when you do the screenshot. An idea for avoid this is copy on the clipboard, and for let you know when the pic is uploaded, you could add a taskbar icon while the upload which shows a message when the pic is uploaded. Is just a suggestion ^^'
Keep your work up =3
Hi Synx,
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late reply.
We are challenging to develop distributed and cost-effective system to handle huge amount of data transfer.
Also, thanks for your suggestion.
Hello Isshu.
ReplyDeleteCound we have an option to have a upload operation like gyazowin+? Confirms before one uploading starts, and shows a dialog box to inform you that screenshot has been uploaded successfully instead of opening the uploaded one with browser. I think that would be simpler for some people like me.
thanks.
HELP!! I can't get my new Gyazo to pop up the screen grabs. I hear the click but no window opens and there's no evidence I've made the image.
ReplyDeleteAlso I can't get gyazo.com to register in my browser. Are you offline? Could you please post an update here? I LOVE my Gyazo!!! Need it, need it...
thanks
Hi,
ReplyDeleteWe had a network card problem in the master DB server. The server is now back online.
Uploading feature was not working.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Cool software you got there.
ReplyDeleteI have coded a similar one (www.screendumper.com).
Maybe you get some ideas too improve this version :-)
Can you include the ability to copy to clipboard too?
Deletethat would be so useful.
When I try to upload an image from Picasa it gives me a "Failed to upload" message. It works fine otherwise. Is there a know issue with Picasa?
ReplyDeleteDamian
Whenever I try to upload a large picture it messes up, but does small pictures just fine. What's wrong and how do I fix it?
ReplyDeletePossible to make a service that would recognize the text from the image online? It would be convenient - takes a snapshot of the screen and get the recognized text.
ReplyDeleteHi Azat,
ReplyDeleteI would like to suggest you the Evernote's ability to recognize text within images. Gyazo Team would like to think about adding the Evernote button on the Gyazo toolbar in the near future.
